I Paid $74 More for Koni Special Active Struts—and It Saved a $15,000 Contract

- Can you eliminate the risk another way? A backup van, a shifted pickup window, or a temporary part might be cheaper than a premium. Compare those honestly.
- Look at the parts around the problem. A $48 CV axle boot kit saved us a $310 axle because someone took 10 minutes to inspect the joint before ordering.
I'm not 100% sure I'd make the same call in every scenario. If we'd had a spare van sitting idle, I might have gambled on the cheaper strut. But we didn't, so the certainty was worth the premium.
